One to two inches of rain in less than two hours resulted in numerous reports of street flooding in Sedalia. Highway 50 was closed in both directions out of Sedalia until 415 AM CST.
A National Weather Service employee reported a water depth of approximately 3 feet covering Route P, 7 miles northeast of Harrisonville. The highwater was adjacent to the entrance of a public golf course.
Very heavy rain resulted in the overtopping of several small lakes in Unity Village. The excess water from the overtopping lakes flowed into and contributed to the river flooding along the Blue River.
One to three inches of rain fell in less than 3 hours across much of Johnson County. This heavy rain resulted in numerous reports of flooded roadways and intersections. In Knob Nobster, Highway 23 was closed northward to the Blackwatrer River and Highway 50 to the Lafayette County line were closed due to high water.
