A band of thunderstorms remained stationary from central Missouri to the Missouri Bootheel. Rain quickly flooded many low-lying parts of Stoddard County, especially the Dexter area. Water was over Business Route 60 in Dexter and Highway 25 south of Dexter. Some gravel roads were washed out west of Bloomfield. A weather watcher for a television station reported 4.25 inches of rain in Dexter.
