Locally heavy lake effect snows produced an average of 6 to 12 inches of accumulation across the snowbelt areas of northwest and northcentral lower Michigan. Across eastern upper Michigan accumulations of 12 to 18 inches were reported across northern portions of Chippewa county. Winds gusting to around 30 mph caused widespread blowing and drifting snows and produced near whiteout conditions at times.
