Damaging Wind in Maryland, June 26, 1998
A severe thunderstorm uprooted numerous trees and damaged homes in and around the Claiborne Fields Development near Hayden. Most of the structural damage occurred near the intersection of White Marsh and Tanyard Roads.

A severe thunderstorm uprooted numerous trees and damaged homes in and around the Claiborne Fields Development near Hayden. Most of the structural damage occurred near the intersection of White Marsh and Tanyard Roads. The wind damage ran the length of White Marsh Road to Maryland State Route 305 near Hope. About 10 homes were damaged, mainly losing siding and soffit work. A home under construction had its roof torn away. A large tree crushed one deck and another tree crushed a pickup truck. Numerous trees had their tops snapped and the corn in the fields were flattened. Power was not completely restored in the area until 11 a.m. EDT the next day.
