A severe thunderstorm caused wind damage across southwestern areas of Cecil County from Crystal Beach to Cecilton. A few trees and numerous large limbs were knocked down. Hardest hit was Elkview Shores with moderate damage to three homes. One large tree limb crushed a trailer home. Downed limbs caused roof damage to one home in Crystal Beach. Fallen trees caused damage to one home near Cecilton. A second home near Cecilton was set on fire by a lightning strike. Choptank Electric reported about 1,100 homes lost power for several hours.
