The Miami County Sheriff's Office reported 60 MPH winds during a severe thunderstorm 6 miles west of Hillsdale. The thunderstorm winds knocked down several large trees.
Johnson County Emergency Management reported large trees and power lines down from severe thunderstorm winds in Merriam, Overland Park, Shawnee and Mission.
Several inches of rain fell during thunderstorms which resulted in flash flooding in Kansas City, KS. Wyandotte County Emergency Management reported that several people were trapped in buildings and cars due to the high water. Many residents reported water in their basements as a result of the storm.
