High Wind in Florida, December 26, 1998
A wind shift line that had been generated by thunderstorms in the eastern Gulf of Mexico propagated east across Lake Okeechobee with wind gusts near 40 knots. A bass fishing boat in 16 feet of water just east of Lake Port capsized and two persons drowned.
