The beginning of December was a period of record warmth across Litchfield County. An area of strong high pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast produced a persistent south to southwesterly flow. From December 2 through 7, temperatures averaged 15 to 20 degrees above normal with daily high temperatures from the mid 50s to around 70 each day.
