The beginning of December was a period of record warmth across Eastern New York. An area of strong high pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast produced a persistent south to southwesterly flow. At the Albany International Airport record highs were established on December 2 with 66 degrees, December 3 with 58, December 4 with 63 and December 7 with 65. In the Mid Hudson Valley, temperatures reached around 70 on December 4 and 7.
