A mountain wave set up over the Pikes Peak region, bringing down damaging winds to Manitou Springs and western Colorado Springs. Gusts to 62 knots were reported in Manitou Springs, the Air Force Academy, and in the Broadmoor area of southwest Colorado Springs. A peak gust of 84 knots was reported at the Colorado Springs Country Club, just east of Cheyenne Mountain. Many small trees were uprooted and fences partially blown down in the Broadmoor area. A roof was partially ripped off a house near Fort Carson. In the same area, on Highway 115, a semi trailer truck was blown on its side.
