Large northwest swells, generated by a series of Northern Pacific storms, produced heavy surf along the west facing beaches of Southern California. Widespread surf of 6 to 8 feet with local sets to 10 feet was reported.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
