Strong gradient winds in the Sacramento Valley and northern San Joaquin Valley caused 38,000 customers to lose power in Yuba, Sutter, Sacramento, and San Joaquin Counties. Many customers lost power for more than 24 hours. This included a number of traffic light systems, which led to numerous accidents. The strongest winds reported were at the Sacramento International Airport of 31 mph gusting to 48 mph. The winds brought down dozens of trees, with the only significant damage reported done to a house in Stockton. The two injuries also occurred to two men in Stockton when a portion of a building's stone ledge fell on them. The downed power lines and high winds also generated more than a dozen small grass fires.
