Flooding across portions of the Motherlode closed roads. Especially hard hit on the 2nd and 3rd, Amador County was declared a disaster area by the 3rd with 3 homes flooded. One fatality occurred in Amador County when a man attempted to cross the raging Calaveritas Creek with his car, abandoned his car when the motor quit, and then attempted to wade the rest of the way. Another man's car went out of control and flipped into a ditch, where he drowned.
