High Wind in Alaska, September 18 to 19, 1998
A rapidly deepening low brought strong, prefrontal southeast winds to the Aleutians and Alaska Peninsula and equally strong northwesterly winds on the back side of the storm. Gusts close to 70 mph were recorded around Cold Bay and at Adak.
