Heavy rain in the Seward area Friday and Saturday caused substantial rises on the Resurrection River and on smaller streams in and around Seward. A flood watch was issued. Nearly 3 inches of rain fell from Friday evening through Saturday evening, causing the Resurrection River to rise nearly 4 feet during the same 24 hour period.
