A moderate weather front moved northeastward across the Aleutians and into the southwest Alaska mainland Thursday before weakening. Brisk southeasterly winds preceded the front...gusting close to 65 mph along the Alaska Peninsula. Additionally, brisk southwesterly winds, gusting from 40 to near 55 mph, were recorded along the south quadrant of the low affected the eastern Aleutians.
