Two fronts, moving from west to east across the area, were preceded by brisk southeast winds. In the first case, only the Aleutians were affected. The Alaska Peninsula, however, received two doses of brisk winds which lasted through much of Thursday. Winds across the Aleutians reached 52 mph, while channelled winds gusted to 58 mph along the Alaska Peninsula around Cold Bay.
