Severe thunderstorms that had dropped large hail in Washington county in Alabama moved into the south parts of Monroe county and dropped large hail again. Trees and power lines were blown down from Frisco City and Excel to near Monroeville.

Severe thunderstorms that had dropped large hail in Washington county in Alabama moved into the south parts of Monroe county and dropped large hail again. Trees and power lines were blown down from Frisco City and Excel to near Monroeville. Most of the damage to the area came from baseball size hail. Large hail fell from Frisco City to Excel to the south parts of Monroeville. Trees were stripped of their leaves and many homes sustained window and roof damage. Many vehicles had pings in them and some had windshields broken out. Field crops were beaten down. This was one of the largest hail events ever in this area.
