10 to 20 inches of snow combined with strong winds to produce whiteout conditions in high terrain and open country. Many rural roads were blocked as drifts reached as much as 6 feet high. In La Crosse, 14.3 inches of snow on the 13th set a new 24 hour snowfall record for the month.
