Strong gradient winds, enhanced by scattered snow showers,resulted in high winds which forced the collapse of a barn 1.5 miles southeast of South Wayne. Several of the milk cows inside the barn were killed, and 20 of them were trapped. The high winds also flipped over a pickup truck pulling a hay wagon about 3 miles northeast of Darlington. The driver was seriously injured in the rollover and was hospitolized. Elsewhere, the high winds blew over large trees in scattered parts of the county.
