Heavy wet snow blanketed parts of the Texas South Plains on Christmas Day, resulting in a relatively rare white Christmas. Four to five inches of snow was reported mainly north and west of Lubbock, including Abernathy, Brownfield, Floydada, Levelland, Anton, Ropesville, Littlefield, Lockettville, and Morton.

Four to five inches of snow was reported mainly north and west of Lubbock, including Abernathy, Brownfield, Floydada, Levelland, Anton, Ropesville, Littlefield, Lockettville, and Morton. One to three inches occurred in adjacent counties, including Lubbock.
