The Highway Department reported the southern part of the county was hit hard with many roads flooded.2 wooden bridges and 2 tile bridges were washed out due to high water, but with no known damage.A Lawrence county EMA official measured 4.5 inches of rain from 3 PM Sunday June 8 to 6 AM Monday June 9.

Hurricane Creek came out of its banks and flooded U.S. Highway 64 just west of Bodenham. A portion of U.S. HWY 64 had to be closed. Troopers from the Tennessee State Highway patrol and workers from the Tennessee Department of Transportation rescued 2 motorists from the high water.
