Strong winds associated with a deep storm system just north of Lake Ontario brought down many trees, large branches, and power lines across sections of the Poconos. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph were common across the region during the early and mid morning hours especially. At one point during the late morning, as many as 10,000 customers were without power. Also, in Pike county in the town of Milford, a woman sustained minor injuries as she was struck by a falling tree branch.
