THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE DANNY INTENSIFIED EXPLOSIVELY AS IT ENTERED WAKE COUNTY. IT ALSO PICKED UP SPEED AND WAS MOVING 40 TO 50 MPH WHEN IT MOVED OFF THE COAST OF NORTH CAROLINA. TREES AND POWER LINES WERE DOWNED THROUGHOUT THE WARNED AREA AS THE STORM ACCELERATED NORTHEAST.
