An embedded thunderstorm within a squall line of heavy rain and strong wind gusts ripped through southwestern sections of the county. Significant structural damage was incurred in the town of Greene. Several large trees and utility poles were toppled by wind gusts estimated at close to 70 mph. Some of these trees landed on nearby trailers and houses; causing siding and roof damage. Another set of trailers had their windows blown out by the force of the winds and flying debris. Pieces of lumber (2' x 6') were driven into the ground in the yards of some of these trailers.
