A line of scattered severe thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front extending from New England south across the Carolinas.Thunderstorms produced 1 inch diameter hail in Kings Park and high winds that knocked down large tree limbs and power lines in Baldwin.Lightning struck a house in Coram at 745pm. The extent of damage was unknown.
