An area of low pressure moved into southern Canada during July 3, 1997. The associated cold front moved across northern New York during the late morning and afternoon hours. Showers and thunderstorms preceeded and accompanied these storms and some resulted in locally heavy rain and strong winds. Small hail...generally 1/2 inch or smaller was also reported with a few of the storms.
