West to northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts over 50 mph blew in behind a cold ront causing widspread damage aross northeast and east central Missouri, and west central and southwest Illinois. Damage was primarily limited to roof shingles, trees, powerlines, and outdoor signs. Union Electric reported nearly 70,000 people were without power for a time across east central Missouri and southwest Illinois.
