The center of an intense coastal storm passed about 200 miles southeast of Nantucket. Gusty northeast winds to 25 to 40 mph occurred over outer Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. The peak gust reported was 39 mph on Nantucket Island. Very minor coastal flooding occurred during astronomically high tides with a maximum surge of about 1.25 feet. Storm force winds likely occurred within the coastal waters, beyond 20 miles east of Nantucket. Buoy #44004 reported wind gusts to 60 knots, but fortunately there were no problems reported by marine interests.
