A severe thunderstorm caused wind damage on Kent Island. Several planes were flipped and damaged at the Kentmorr Airpark. The wind gusted to 70 mph before the anemometer was blown down on the island. A large permanent produce stand near the Bay Bridge was destroyed. Trees were knocked down along Maryland State Route 8 which included the famous "Pac-Man" tree. Trees were also reported uprooted in the Kent Island Estates, Queen Anne's Colony and Shipping Creek Developments. About 1,000 homes in Queen Anne's and neighboring Kent County lost power. Power was not restored to the southern end of Kent Island (Queen Anne's County) until 2 p.m. EDT on the 18th.
