A winter storm left two to three feet of snow at elevations as low as 3,000 feet in the Shasta-Cascades region (Burney Basin) and four to five feet at Donner Summit. The snow was enough to shut down Interstate 80 and US highway 50 for much of the 22nd.

A winter storm left two to three feet of snow at elevations as low as 3,000 feet in the Shasta-Cascades region (Burney Basin) and four to five feet at Donner Summit. The snow was enough to shut down Interstate 80 and US highway 50 for much of the 22nd. 11,000 homes and businesses lost power in Plumas County, 5000 homes and businesses in eastern Shasta County, and 10,500 customers in the tri-county region of Tuolumne/Calaveras/Amador Counties.
