Numerous trees were uprooted and snapped across the southeast portions of town. Four vehicles were crushed and several homes were damaged in the Plainview and Gunter subdivisions. Trees were also uprooted on CR50, 116, 117, 132 and Hwy 4. A moving truck was also struck by a fallen tree but no injuries resulted.

A Texarkana woman was struck by lightning while inside an outbuilding at her home. She was leaning against an aluminum window frame when the frame was hit. She was held overnight at a local hospital then released.
