Remains of an old western Pacific typhoon moved into the northcentral Pacific during the weekend . Central pressure of the storm reached at least down to 956 mbs. Although the frontal system associated with the storm remained south of the Aleutian Chain, brisk east to northeast winds preceding the front reached speeds of 46 mph across the central Aleutians Saturday and early Sunday. Ships just south of the Chain, however, reported storm force winds of around 60 mph.
