High Wind in Alaska, November 23 to 27, 1997
A major storm developed in the far western Aleutians Monday, deepening to a 967mb center just southwest of the Pribilofs Tuesday. The storm then began to slowly weaken and curve southeast to a position about 100 miles south of Cold Bay early Wednesday.

A major storm developed in the far western Aleutians Monday, deepening to a 967mb center just southwest of the Pribilofs Tuesday. The storm then began to slowly weaken and curve southeast to a position about 100 miles south of Cold Bay early Wednesday. Brisk northwesterly winds were reported along the "back" side of the low...gusting close to 60 mph across the Aleutians Tuesday and along the Alaska Peninsula Wednesday.
