High Wind in Alaska, July 18, 1997
A moderate front approaching the eastern North Gulf Coast produced wind gusts of 46 mph at Middleton Island. Gusts between 40 and 50 mph were also reported by several fishing vessels just south of Cordova in the open waters of the Gulf of Alaska.
