A tight surface pressure gradient brought strong northwest winds to the northwest deserts of Utah. The Utah Highway Patrol at the Wendover Port of Entry estimated wind gusts to be about 60 mph (52 kts).

A tight surface pressure gradient brought strong northwest winds to the northwest deserts of Utah. The Utah Highway Patrol at the Wendover Port of Entry estimated wind gusts to be about 60 mph (52 kts). They had also received radio reports from truckers that blowing salt was reducing visibilities along Interstate-80.
