Severe thunderstorms swept across Greenwood county. At the airport two planes were flipped over, a mobile home was blown over and other damage occurred. In the city numerous trees and power lines were downed-some onto houses. Excessive rain caused severe urban flooding which in turn caused at least one motorist to become trapped in a car. Other cars stalled in the flood water. Scattered trees were blown down across Abbeville county.
