Flash Flood in Oklahoma, April 22, 1996
Thunderstorms during the evening of April 21st and morning of April 22nd produced very heavy rainfall which resulted in flash flooding in Latimer, Haskell, Pittsburg, and Le Flore Counties in southeast Oklahoma. In Latimer County, parts of State Highway 82 in the Red Oak area were flooded, and numerous county roads were also flooded.

Thunderstorms during the evening of April 21st and morning of April 22nd produced very heavy rainfall which resulted in flash flooding in Latimer, Haskell, Pittsburg, and Le Flore Counties in southeast Oklahoma. In Latimer County, parts of State Highway 82 in the Red Oak area were flooded, and numerous county roads were also flooded. In Haskell County, San Bois Creek overflowed its banks two different times during the morning of the 22nd and flooded a couple county roads each time. In Pittsburg County, State Highway 31 and U.S. Highway 270 were closed west of McAlester due to high water, and U.S. Highway 69 was closed south of McAlester due to high water. In Le Flore County, roads were flooded west of Panama and west of Shady Point.
