A large severe thunderstorm cause widespread damage over Rankin county. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down in about a five mile wide swath from Whitfield to just east of Pelahatchie.In Pelahatchie an estimated 100 tree were blown down. Many houses were damaged by the fallen trees.
