Severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours on the 27th produced hail up to nickel size, damaging winds and damaging lightning.Thunderstorm winds knocked down trees which blocked a road in Dobson. Several trees were knocked down by thunderstorm winds across the southern portion of Wilkes County.Lightning strikes one mile west of Boonville were responsible for fires in two abandoned buildings.
