More severe storms hit just west of the area affected the day before. In Statesville a tree was blown onto a state trooper's car. A concession stand was blown over and trees were downed. Trees were downed around Lake Norman and large hail fell from Mooresville to the lake. Lightning burned a church in Mocksville.
