Severe thundestorms developed along a warm frontal boundary during the afternoon of April 22. The storms produced damage in the counties of Herkimer, Montgomery, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady. At Defreetsville in Rensselaer County, numerous trees were downed by the wind which resulted in damage to cars and houses. Three people were injured at Wynantskill in Rensselaer County. Hail was also reported in Albany County at Albany, Glenmont and Colonie and in Rensselaer County at Defreetsville and Buskirk. Telephone poles were downed by the storms in Montgomery County at Amsterdam and Mohawk. In Herkimer County at Jacksonburg, downed trees landed on a mobile home.
