A severe thunderstorm uprooted many trees and downed many wires in Bordentown. Hundreds of trees were damaged. Most of the structural and auto damage within the township was caused by fallen trees. About 20 to 30 trees estimated to be between 200 and 300 years old were destroyed on the Divine Word Missionary grounds. Wind damage also occurred in nearby Fieldsboro. Countywide damage from the thunderstorms was estimated at 12 million dollars.
