Heavy rain associated with a low pressure system that moved just east of the New Jersey coast during the evening of the 7th caused more flooding along the Assunpink Creek in Mercer County. The Assunpink Creek in Trenton was above its 7 foot flood stage from 845 p.m. EST on the 7th through 2 a.m. EST on the 8th. It crested at 7.5 feet at 1115 p.m. EST on the 7th. Storm totals included 1.34 inches in Hightstown, 1.23 inches in Washington's Crossing and 1.16 inches in Hamilton Crossing. This was the third time this month that more than an inch of rain fell during a precipitation event.
