Severe thunderstorms caused wind related damage in central and northern Somerset Counties. The hardest hit locations were Branchburg, Far Hills and Peapack. In Far Hills a small microburst (A concentrated downburst of damaging winds from a thunderstorm) caused extensive tree damage in about a quarter acre area. A few of them fell on houses. A couple of roofs were torn off and downed power lines forced the closure of Lake Road. In Peapack mainly smaller trees were uprooted. One large tree was uprooted and dented a roof. In Branchburg shingles were torn from two houses. Downed trees damaged several homes and garages mostly on Narraganset and Yuma Trails. The damaging winds also blew over a fence and shed. A few trees were also uprooted in Bound Brook and Hillsborough on East Mountain Road. No serious injuries were reported.
