A 60 knot wind gust was measured by the Lift Bridge tender at the Duluth harbor. Large trees and tree branches up to a foot in diameter were snapped off in other parts of the city and surrounding communities. A 55 knot gust was also recorded by automated wind sensors at Duluth International Airport. A few large billboards near the airport were blown down.
