A series of supercell thunderstorms moved across Jefferson county during the late evening hours. Rotation and wall clouds were observed by numerous storm spotters and storm chasers in the area. The storms did produce many reports of large hail and winds in excess of 60 to 70 mph with torrential rainfall. The storms intensified east of Jefferson county.
