Southwest winds of 45 to 65 mph were recorded near the summit of Haleakala. Southwest winds of 60 to 85 mph were recorded near the summit of Mauna Kea. At lower elevations of North Kohala, Kona, and Hilo Districts, winds gusting above 40 mph knocked several trees and power lines down. 2,000 customers lost power in North Kohala and 2,500 lost power in Hilo.
