Heavy rain associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Josephine affected Delaware primarily during the daylight hours on the 8th. Peak wind gusts reached around 35 mph in New Castle County and around 45 mph in Kent County. Some tree limbs were pulled down. The heavy rain did cause the Christina River to flood in New Castle County, but no other flooding was reported. Storm totals included 2.37 inches in Dover, 1.9 inches in Newark and 1.8 inches in Pennyhill. Peak wind gusts included 47 mph at the Dover A.F.B. and 37 mph at the New Castle County Airport.
