Heavy rains associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Josephine caused flash flooding along the Christina River. At Cooch's Bridge, the river reached its 9 foot flood stage at 630 p.m. EDT, crested at 10.6 feet at 945 p.m. EDT and was back within bankfull by 11 p.m. EDT. No serious injuries or damage were reported, but there were several water rescues of individuals trapped in cars. Storm totals included 1.9 inches in Newark, 1.8 inches in Pennyhill, 1.5 inches in Odessa, 1.44 inches in Wilmington and 1.40 inches in Prices Corner.
